Ali Muhammad Ali Abd-Al-Rahman Transferred to ICC
International Criminal Court Assumes Custody of Suspected War Criminal

Ali Muhammad Ali Abd-Al-Rahman, a suspected war criminal wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC), has been transferred to the Court's custody. Abd-Al-Rahman is accused of committing grave crimes during the conflict in Darfur, Sudan.
The ICC's investigation into the situation in Darfur has been ongoing since 2005. The Court has issued arrest warrants for several individuals alleged to bear responsibility for war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide. Abd-Al-Rahman is the first suspect to be transferred to the ICC in connection with this investigation.
Abd-Al-Rahman's transfer to the ICC marks a significant step in the Court's efforts to bring to justice those responsible for the atrocities committed in Darfur. The Court will now proceed with its investigation and will determine whether there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial.
