Hulu's True Crime Anthology Series, "The Act," to Premiere on March 20th
A Harrowing Story of Deception and Murder
Based on a true crime story, "The Act" follows the twisted tale of Gypsy Blanchard and her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard.
Hulu is set to premiere its new true crime anthology series, "The Act," on March 20th. The series tells the chilling story of Gypsy Blanchard, a young woman who was raised by her mother to believe she was seriously ill. In reality, Gypsy was able-bodied, and her mother, Dee Dee, had been fabricating her illnesses for years. The series will star Joey King as Gypsy and Patricia Arquette as Dee Dee.
Gypsy's story took a dark turn in 2015, when she met and began an online relationship with Nicholas Godejohn. Together, they hatched a plan to murder Dee Dee. Godejohn traveled to Gypsy's home in Missouri and stabbed Dee Dee to death. Gypsy and Godejohn were both arrested and convicted of murder.
"The Act" promises to be a gripping and disturbing look at the lengths that some people will go to maintain their grip on others. The series will premiere on Hulu on March 20th.
