England has advanced to the semi-finals of Euro 2024 after a thrilling penalty shootout victory over Switzerland. Jordan Pickford emerged as the hero, saving Manuel Akanji's attempt to secure a 4-3 victory on penalties.

Gareth Southgate's side controlled the game for much of the 120 minutes but were unable to find a breakthrough in regulation or extra time. Switzerland had their chances, but they were also unable to take advantage.
