Early Life and Career

Tim Walz was born in 1964 in West Point, Nebraska. He graduated from Chadron State College in 1989 with a degree in social studies education. After teaching high school for several years, Walz joined the U.S. Army National Guard and served for 24 years, retiring as a command sergeant major.
