NDSU Men’s Cross Country Picked 2nd in Summit League Preseason Poll

Fargo, N.D. –

The North Dakota State University men’s cross country team was picked to finish second in the Summit League Preseason Coaches Poll, which was released on Tuesday, Aug. 23.

The Bison received three first-place votes and 78 points in the poll, which is voted on by the league’s head coaches.

South Dakota was picked to win the league with 82 points and five first-place votes.

NDSU returns three All-Summit League performers from last season in seniors Alex Bartholomay and Jacob Rodin, and junior Jacob Rodin.

Bartholomay finished fifth at the Summit League Championships last season, while Jacob Rodin placed seventh and Isaac Rodin finished eighth.

The Bison also welcome a talented group of newcomers, including redshirt freshman Cade Peterson and true freshman Evan Hundley.

Peterson, a native of Fargo, N.D., was a three-time state champion at Fargo South High School.

Hundley, a native of Tea, S.D., was a two-time state champion at Tea Area High School.

NDSU opens the season on Friday, Sept. 2, at the Augustana Twilight.
