Reese Witherspoon Reveals Epic Present Laura Dern Gave Her Son at 2024 Emmys

"We're adopting him!"

Reese Witherspoon gave her "friend for life" Laura Dern a special shout-out at the Emmys. But the Wild actress raved about a gift Dern gave to her son Deacon.

The Devotion star told E! News, "I love her so much...she got my son his first racing car, a remote control racing car. We're adopting him at this point."

Witherspoon and Dern's close friendship

Witherspoon praised her fellow actress, saying, "She's one of my dearest friends, friend for life. She's so honest and true." Witherspoon added that she appreciates Dern's "bold choices" and "always is walking to the beat of her own drum."

Witherspoon also honored Sally Field on stage during the Emmys presentation for her lifetime achievement award.

Witherspoon concluded, "Sally Field's been one of the most important people in my life. I've known her for almost half of my life and my mom was obsessed with Sally Field."
